I am so sad to hear that Ellie has died.  I remember her so well from our high school days...as well as temple. It is so funny the things you remember about people and I remember that she had a watch she always wore and I think it had a grograin strap...and I always thought she was so stylish..:) Ellie was so friendly and smart and I remember thinking that she was going to be very successful someday.  My sincere condolences to her family.

I learned a lot from Ellie. My life would be completely different without Ellie. We met in band in freshman year! Ellie showed me kindness-leaving notes and small treasures in my locker (including after I flunked my driver’s license test). She was organized and taught me how to take class notes and prioritize schoolwork and tests. Focused on getting into Berkeley, Ellie made sure I got my applications for SATs and colleges done and turned in on time. Would I have made it to college without her help? I'm not sure. We spent many hours dreaming about our future. Ellie was generous and funny and smart. She was a blessing in my life and nothing can change that; I just wish she had more time here with us.

So very saddened to hear of Ellie's passing.  I met her in the 7th grade at BIS - my family had just relocated to California from Pennsylvania, and I was a nervous wreck on my first day of school, surrounded by strangers.  Ellie was so kind to me that day and took me under her wing - it made a big difference and I've never forgotten it.  We were good friends in intermediate and high school but lost touch after graduation.  The last time I saw her was at the 20th reunion which she attended with her husband.  We shared a table that night and it was fun to catch up.  It sounded like she had a great life and was very happy.  My deepest condolences to her husband and family.

There is a reason why we should all go to the reunions!  I am so sorry to hear about Ellie.  Ellie pretty much changed my future direction; or at least confirmed the direction I was going in at the 40th reunion.  She asked me how I could possibly be working in management for "such a cut-throat industry" as retail for as long as I had.  Her comments and our connection at the reunion, facilitated a late in life career change to education, that has been such a rewarding experience!  Ellie was a catalyst for getting it done!  Ellie was bright, witty, and extremely talented;  What a terrible loss.  My heart goes out to her family.

I'm so sorry to hear that Ellie past away. She was my awesome algebra tutor during my senior year. I would not have passed the course or probably graduated in 1971 without her. Rest in peace Sister.

When I Saw this today I was saddened Ellie was always positive and cheerful. She went

out of her way to make friends and people feel special. She was extremely intelligent and

it looks like her path in life never changed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family a

great loss in this world.
