I have such great memories of Steve from when we went to school together in Shasta. He will be truly missed!

I was struck when I read this announcement in my email this morning.  Steve was my first true love and we were together throughout much of high school... so many proms, as a majorette I toilet papered his house during football season, so much growing up and so many laughs.  I hadn't talked to him in almost 40 years, but always wondered where his life had taken him.  So very sad.  Love you Steve.

OK guys, remember when Steve first moved here in 7th grade?  In the Basketball locker room at BIS, he would yell out, "Get you fresh hot roasted California Goobers........you need em, we got em, how bout em!"  That became so infectious, even Mr Hanson started saying it.  Steve lived up the street from me and invited me to numerous USF basketball games when his dad was AD there.  Always a good guy, fun, and lot's of laughs.

Hi all: Sadly, I was the one who first broke the story about Steve on Facebook. We were good friends all through high school and became even close afterwards. On the Facebook post I had asked anyone to post their favorite Steve story and there were many. I posted a couple involving Dan Rosenbledt, Tom Mcquinn. I feel such a sense of loss as many of my memories with Steve also included Darrel Callis who we sadly lost 4 years ago. The get togethers in Dukes Hut (Darrells home above his moms house) were epic. Many times when Steve got going, I nearly wet my pants. I never lost track of him as we often spoke after he moved to Sacramento. Last time we talked is when I was trying to convince him to come to our 40th reunion. He said to me "shit Joe, I need to go on a diet". But it was the way he David it that made me laugh.

God Bless Steve and his family. You're in our prayers.

Would really be nice to see a high school aged pic of Steve here. Anyone???

So sad to hear. I taped his knee and ankles for football games for two seasons. There is a yearbook pic of me doing the task. He always said "Gregg make it really tight".  He ran hard and played hard.  RIP my friend, Aloha and Mahalo for the memories

I'm so sorry to hear about Steve; his charismatic personality was always upbeat and funny.  We were well aware of his athletic talents.  Unfortunately we are becoming more aware of our mortality as time goes by. Peace be to you and yours.
