In 1971, Daniel Ellsberg, a leading Vietnam War strategist, concludes that America’s role in the war is based on decades of lies.He leaks 7,000 pages of top-secret documents to The New York Times, a daring act of conscience that leads directly to Watergate, President Nixon’s resignation and the end of the Vietnam War.

Best Western El Rancho Inn, located at 1100 El Camino Real, is now facing it’s demise - upcoming May demolition.

The El Rancho Inn has been a staple of the Millbrae community for decades and opened in 1948, Its famous underwater swimming pool window in the "Mermaid Room" bar was featured in the 1983 movie "The Right Stuff," and the hotel had seen famous guests throughout the years, including Joan Crawford and Richard Nixon.

I remember Ross from Spring Valley school 4th grade. Mild mattered like his father the doctor. So sorry life is sooooo short. Rest in peace brother. Very intelligent & great at tennis. Sad to find out this way. Life has become to busy & I miss the good ole days when life was much slower & friends got together for visiting.... Prayers for you & Family Ross.

I remember Ross from Spring Valley school 4th grade. Mild mattered like his father the doctor. So sorry life is sooooo short. Rest in peace brother. Very intelligent & great at tennis. I didn't find out about How good Ross was at tennis until I was going back to college at Skyline in 2011 & my former classmate was my PE coach,  Mike Fitzgerald with pictures of Ross on his bulletin board in Mikes office.... Small world. Sad to find out this way. Life has become to busy & I miss the good ole days when life was much slower & friends got together for visiting.... Prayers for you & Family Ross.

WOW I'm In shock. I first met Ross in 4th grade in Spring Valley school. He was also my neighbor & I remember I had to take off my shoes when visiting in his house , his mother was strict 😂 I always called his dad Dr. Binder & Ross mom was my Bible school teacher At Millbrae Baptist church across from Chardborne school on Magnolia....I hadn't seen Ross since & saw him with his new wife & sister cleaning out his parents house down the street after his father had passed in 2011. I was going to skyline college at the time & taking PE Classes & my teacher was a former classmate from Mills an also knew Ross due to his/ Ross many tennis trophies. Due to life an working at a young we lost track of each other. Taylor & Mills schools were definitely a challenge due to always being in trouble 🤣 I remember those years like it was yesterday, We definitely had it made back then with the cost of living. His father was in the assisted living facility down the street in same neighborhood an where my older brother was staying.

Older I get. life is short and a blessing, rest in peace my brother, prayers for Ross family...

As I remember joe with lots of great energy during the events in the Gymnasium & as one of the pictures in the yearbook with Betsy Benson states:  Joe was definitely "Most Spirited"
I see in the background of the picture of Joe while sitting in kitchen, a for sale sign in front the house across the way how appropriate...

God bless ,

50 years has flown by in a blink of an eye...
