RIP Bob Silva (Faculty)

Written by Patty Jim Pappas

This one really hurts, as Mr. Silva helped me refine my English skills. Then as a Millbrae Police Officer and School Resource Officer, I partnered with Mr.Silva as he later became the Mills Dean.

Bob, in his retirement, substituted at several schools, Aragon, Central Middle and was the interim Principal at Taylor Middle School. Just a little more than a year ago, Bob started to show signs of Alzheimer’s. He went into memory care near his home in Belmont where his wife, Linda, and friends were able to visit him. On Wednesday, Bob passed with his wife at his side.

Bob was from Hawaii, but attended Capuchino High School. He was one of the original teachers at the new Mills High School. He was a teacher, coach, and friend to many.

His ashes will be scattered in the Hawaiian seas.
